This Spring Box contains:

2 x pre-tensioned springs which are secured on their transit brackets for delivery,
and also helps with easy fitting!

How to select the correct Spring Box for your garage door:
First identify your door style, ie, Horizon, Georgian, (use pictures below to help)

... Horizon........... Carlton...........Georgian............ Chevron ............Parade ............Salisbury

Click on the Garador Spring Box 'Guide B', at the bottom of page

Match your garage door size and door style..

Make a note of the spring code, ie, PN57 / PN58

Select your spring code from the drop down box at the top of the page when ordering.

Example: door size: 7'0" x 6'6" / Door Style: Horizon = PN58

If your Spring Box has a metal cover (as pictured below)
and not a sliding plastic cover
then it is highly recommended that any repairs should not be attempted!


Please consider a new Spring Box Assembley which comes complete with springs and cables.
The springs in these boxes are pre-tensioned at the factory, and are isolated on their transit hooks for delivery, this makes for easy fitting!!

These Cones have the distinctive 22mm hexagonal plastic nut to the tapered end, this nut will fit a 22mm spanner which can assist the fitting of the cones.

The cables and cones or even the garage springs are the main components on garage doors that do tend to need replacing first usually due to wear and tear or damage, if fitted correctly and with routine maintenance there is no reason the running parts should not last average 20 years or more!!
The cables and springs can often be easily and cost effectively replaced.

The handle that is fitted to the garage door in the image on the right is now obsolete.
This handle can sometimes be confused with the handle which is been held in the middle image.
If you notice the obsolete handle has a much wider link arm that attaches to the cable.

Q: How do I know which Cones, Cables to order for my garage door?

A: The first thing is to identify the make or manufacturer of your garage door!

Q: How do I find out the make / manufacturer of my Garage Door?
A: 1. Firstly look on the garage door lock or handle, this usually gives you the manufacturers name,
ie, Henderson, Cardale, Garador etc.

2. If there is no name on the lock, then look inside the garage door, usually on the inside of the garage door there is a manufacturers lable, ie, Wessex, Marley, Westland etc

3. If you still cannot find any name or manufacturers labels on the garage door, you can take a photo of the garage door lock/handle inside and out and then e-mail the photo to me and I will try to identify the garage door for you!

When replacing garage door cables, please also look at the condition of the roller spindles.
If the roller spindles show any signs of wear (ie, if the rollers are sliding up and down and not rolling)
now is the best time to also replace them.
